For those who need accommodation with their training courses or experiences days, there are many local options.
On Coldcroft Farm where the courses and experience events are hosted, there is also Self Catering Accommodation. Old Apple Store is a family run self catering cottage, renovated in 2019. The cottage is a 1 bed ground floor converted apple store.
- The bed can be made into 2 singles, or a superking double. There is plenty of storage for clothes in this well appointed bedroom.
- The sitting room is open plan with the kitchen, but in it's own slightly separated area. It has two sofas and a TV
- The kitchen has a good sized antique kitchen table suitable for 4 people. It is a well appointed kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer and plenty of storage.
- The bathroom of course has a bath and an overhead shower also. All has been recently fitted in 2019.
- There is a small enclosed garden, and also a good sized conservatory with sofa, so the garden can be enjoyed whatever the weather.
We aim to do all we can to ensure you have a really good time here on Coldcroft Farm. Please feel free to call Katie should you have any questions. We live at Coldcroft Farm ourselves, so are very much available should you have questions and we will try to meet you during your stay, whilst also at the same time leaving you to enjoy the cottage without interruption.
Bookings can be made directly through us, or via Sykes who we use as an agent.
Arrival / Departure
Arrival is after 4pm on the day of arrival, and for departures we will need you vacated by 10am, so that we have time to prepare for the new guests.
Due to livestock on the farm, no dogs are permitted at the cottage.
There are many entertainment options. A separate list is available including some leaflets for local activities.
Coldcroft Farm is a traditional working sheep and cattle farm. We use Shire horses to manage the land, and have a variety of sheep, poultry and we hope soon to have other livestock residing here. If you would be interested in a tour of the farm, or to have a ½ day or full day with the Shire horses working them, please contact Jamie. He can arrange a day which will include tuition on the shire horse breed, how to harness them ready for work, long-reining the horses in the school and then a ride in the horse and cart around the local lanes. Prices will be based around the experience you would like
The cottage will be cleaned and ready for you with a spare bin liner, washing up liquid. We also provide bedding and towels.
If you would like to book extra housekeeping during your stay, please let us know and we can arrange this for you at a small additional charge.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the cottage but it should be noted it is slow and works on 4G.
Horses – riding and carriage driving
You are very welcome to bring horses with you during your stay, but this must be pre-arranged separately in advance with the owners. We are located only 15 minutes from Hartpury college. There are endless greenways and bridlepaths on May Hill and in the surrounding Forest of Dean area which also includes extensive carriage driving routes, all easily accessible from the farm.
On the farm itself we have an Olympic sized arena and a horse walker. Currently the fields are being re-fenced, so horses will need to stay in the mobile stable.
Due the proximity of the cottage to the stables and the storage of hay and straw, no smoking is allowed on the property, including the garden and the picnic area.
Television / Radio / Games
A radio is provided in the kitchen. The television in the lounge is set up for use with FreeSat.
